Extension: Coaches and Manager Positions for Squads
Canoe Polo Ireland would like to Extend the deadline for applications for the roles of coach or manager of the following squads:
- Senior Men
- Senior Women
- U21 Men
- U21 Women

CV should include following:
- Position applied for
- Qualifications and experience in Canoe Polo in said position
- Skills and qualities one can bring to the position
- Aspirations and goals for the squad
- Brief outline of how you plan to achieve your aspirations and goals.
Role of the Coach:
- Must treat everyone equally and sensitively regardless of his/her gender, ethnic origin, cultural background, sexual orientation, religion, or political affiliation.
- To look after the physical, technical, tactical and mental preparation of the Squad’s Development Canoe Polo Squad/s for International and Domestic competitions.
- To utilize the support of other qualified personnel in the preparation of the squad where required upon ratification by the National Canoe Polo Committee (NCPC) Chairperson.
- To organize training sessions in conjunction with the Manager of the squad.
- To finalize selection criteria for European competitions and submit to NCPC for ratification.
- In conjunction with the manager to deal with any disciplinary matters arising within the squad.
- To treat all members of the squad/s and NCPC with dignity and respect.
- To present any grievances to the committee should they arise.
- To abide by the Canoeing Ireland Child Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children and as such agree to adhere to the principles and responsibilities embodied in the code. (U21 SQUADS)
- To make best efforts to ensure athletes adhere to the Canoeing Ireland’s (CI) Athletes Code of Conduct.
Role of the Manager:
- Must treat everyone equally and sensitively regardless of his/her gender, ethnic origin, cultural background, sexual orientation, religion, or political affiliation.
- To look after the administration and management of the Irish Canoe Polo Squad(s) for International and Domestic competitions.
- To manage the financial affairs and to keep detailed records of all financial transactions.
- In conjunction with the Coach to deal with any disciplinary issues arising within the squad.
- To report to the NCPC Chairperson any disciplinary issues arising within the squad.
- To submit a short-written report to the NCPC at the end of March, June, September and December.
- To present selection criteria for the squad for European competitions by the end of March to the NCPC for ratification.
- To present names of team members for European competitions for ratification by the NCPC at agreed times.
- To keep detailed records of all international competitions, results and members of teams for duration of term as manager.
- To present squad goals and aspirations (in conjunction with the Coach) by the end of March to the CI NCPC Chairperson.
- To provide the CI NCPC PRO with information for Press Releases.
- To ensure that all (athletes and management) members of the Squad sign the National Squads Athlete Agreement by agreed date.
- To liaise with the other Managers of the CI NCPC National Squads.
- To present any grievances to the committee should they arise
- To abide by the Canoeing Ireland Child Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children and as such agree to adhere to the principles and responsibilities embodied in the code. (U21 SQUADS)
- To make best efforts to ensure athletes adhere to the Athletes Code of Conduct.
