ICUPS 2023

The Irish Colleges and Universities Polo (ICUPs) is an annual Canoe Polo competition.  This year it will be held at  that The LetsGoHydro Resort at Knockbracken Reservoir – Belfast.

The competition will take place on the 15th/16th of April. This is aimed towards boosting the participation of college students within Canoe Polo.

Categories will be as follows:

• Freshers
• Women
• Open/OFBs.

Freshers will be aimed towards a beginner level category. If a college enters a women’s team, the competitors on said team will also be allowed to compete with a Freshers or Open team, but not both.

For the Open/OFBs league there will be group stages first to match teams of similar abilities to the same divisions. For OFBs, 4 years grace from final year of college will apply.  OFBs must also be a current member of Canoeing Ireland.

For everyone else to enter in the competition you have to qualify under Sports Ireland rules as a third level student.

There will be a registration cost for each college of €100. The cost per person is €10 to register for the competition, i.e. 6 people on a team is €60 and the initial registration cost €160.

Women will only have to pay once even if they intend to play on two teams.
