Senior Mens Squad

The first world championships in canoe polo took place in Sheffield, England, in 1994, and consisted of 18 men’s teams and six women’s teams.  Ireland came 7th, and have been a frequent entrant in World and European Championships since then.

Since then the competition has grown so that the 2016 competition in Syracuse, Italy, featured 24 teams, with Ireland coming 14th.

The senior men’s squad have not competed internationally this year but are still training hard individually. Also with many strong U21 players coming up through the ranks, the squad looks strong for future years.

U21 Mens Squad

Our Under 21 Mens squad is made up of younger players from North and South of Ireland. They’ve completed a hard years training, attending the ECA cup in Mechelen and the London International.

In August 2018 they will represent Ireland at the World Championships being held in Welland Canada. Their hard work will surely see them do us proud in Welland!
